This is the island retreat you have always
dreamed of. The quiet is deafening! Read, write, walk the
beach, walk the woods, find fossils, ride your bicycle,
drive on quiet island roads, fish the inland lakes, go to
the north end and gaze at the sunset over Mackinaw Bridge,
take your boat to Mackinac Island for ice cream or just
to see if there are other people in the world! You can stay
on your private beach, in your private world....or you can
walk to the tavern for libations, pool, juke box music,
or table shuffle board. You'll see some people there! Or,
drive to Hawk's Landing Store for breakfast, lunch, dinner,
necessary supplies.... or again if you’re lonely. The
two cottages nearest this retreat are inhabited by the most
incredible families you will ever meet...and they will only
bother you if you ask them to. This home rents for $685
per week from April through June, $900 per week July and
August, $685 September, October, and November. We shut it
down in December, but many islanders stay on island and
snowmobile to land on an ice bridge or fly out of the airport.
