Cottage is just one of our holiday cottages & country house apartments,
it is set in six acres of attractive gardens and fields in the beautiful
Devon countryside near the Cornish border in the unspoiled hamlet
of Welcombe. The cottage is close to the sea and very clean beaches."Primrose
Cottage" has 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 9 people. It has a modern,
well equipped kitchen/dining room with cooker, fridge freezer and
microwave. The bathroom has both bath and shower, the large lounge
has a colour TV and woodburning stove, the cottage also has central
heating.

We have an excellent licensed Restaurant open
every evening. There is a Games room and solar heated outdoor
Swimming pool. Children love our friendly, tame farm animals and
pets and have great fun on our garden play equipment. Laundry
room and payphone.
LOCATION
& AMENITIES
There are many excellent beaches nearby. Welcombe Mouth Beach
is within walking distance (20 mins) or is accessible by car (3/4
mile). It has a waterfall, rock pools and lots of sand at low
tide. Washed by the Atlantic twice a day, it is a very clean beach.
Experienced surfers seek out this beach, swimming and bodyboarding
are enjoyed by all. We have body boards for hire at a very modest
daily rate. Some of Cornwall’s best beaches, Sandy Mouth,
Crooklets, Summerleaze and Widemouth Bay are within easy driving
distance.
The spectacular scenery around Welcombe makes it the perfect venue
for those who enjoy coast and country walks. Berry Park borders
the Marsland Valley which is a site of special scientific interest
(SSSI) and an officially designated area of outstanding natural
beauty. It is home to much rare wildlife including red deer, otters
and buzzards. Numerous wild flowers abound, especially in the
springtime when bluebells carpet the woods and it becomes hard
to believe that orchids are rare. In autumn the area produces
a rich variety of mushrooms and toadstools.
There are many excellent tourist attractions, for both children
and adults in the area. The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Killarney
Springs, and Pixieland all provide popular family days out. For
those who enjoy sports, there is a choice of indoor swimming pools,
golf courses, horse riding, tennis and squash within easy driving
distance. Water sports and fishing are available at various places
along the coast as well as at the Tamar Lakes. The famous fishing
village of Clovelly is a short drive away and day trips to the
island of Lundy are available from there.
In addition to the diversity of it’s landscape, the area
also plays host to a wonderful selection of fine gardens, RHS
Rosemoor is 45 mins drive away and a visit can be combined with
a trip to the Dartington Crystal Glass Factory. Other gardens
nearby are at Hartland Abbey, Clovelly Court, Docton Mill, Tapeley
Park and Marwood Hill.
Lettings are usually Saturday to
Saturday but short breaks and midweek bookings can be arranged
in the low season.
