This luxury Swiss Chalet, built in Morissen, Canton Grisons for the owners in 1986, sleeps eight people comfortably. It benefits from southeastern exposure in the sunlit Val Lumnezia ("Valley of Light") and a near panoramic view of the alpine snow-capped peaks.
Morissen is a small working village with year-round residents and a sprinkling of vacation chalets. Access is maintained year-round by the local authorities. A hotel-restaurant, a dairy and a small market are within walking distance.
This Chalet has 3 large bedrooms, 1 small bedroom, an extra large living room, and a spacious circular dining bay (seats 9). It also features a laundry room, an ultra-modern kitchen and bathroom facilities (2 full and 2 half-baths), and a wet bar. 2 independent phone lines with modem receptacle, 117V/220V equipped office area with fax machine, stereo, and intercom help maintain a connection with the business world or distant family members, if desired. The Chalet is fully furnished and equipped for worry-free move-in for long or short stays. It is equally suitable for adult couples or couples with children and for groups of 2 to 8 or 9.
A tiled entry, two large wood balconies and a very open flagstone terrace for sunbathing or entertainment complement the natural surrounding of this Chalet. The open-beamed ceiling, carpeted parquet floors, the Norwegian tiled Kachelofen complete its rich and comfortable environment. Central radiant floor heating is available all year round.
Parking in the heated garage and cobbled breezeway will accommodate 4 motor cars.


Nearby Attractions

Though Morissen may be small and quiet, and off the beaten path, it is not remote. It has a traditional style hotel, restaurant, a post office and bus stop, a school, and a small market. The Ski Lift stations are 1-mile downhill from the Chalet to which skiers return on easy well-groomed ski paths. In Summer and Fall, trails to the high peaks are a hiker's and botanist's delight.
Convenient main floor access for disabled persons is provided by a gently sloping path from the front door leading to the Terrace and balcony. There, 3 French doors to the living room and dining area provide an even level adjoining the Master Bedroom suite, kitchen and wet bar.
The Chalet's stocked wine cellar is available for use by guests: beverages consumed are charged as posted and paid for on guests' departure.


Vella, the regional administrative center a mile away, has 4 restaurants, a mini-market, petrol station and auto repair, a modern bakery, a pharmacy and medical clinic, a bank and a post office. It is on the main bus line from Ilanz, 2000 ft. below and 6 miles by road, astride the Upper Rhine River. Ilanz is a walled, medieval town with 2 medium-size shopping centers, museum-library, fine churches, and many shops, schools, a hospital and a major stop on the Glacier Express Railway. It is also a major take-off point for many bus destinations into the mountain communities above, and for canoeing and river rafting through the Upper Rhine "Grand Canyon.” Bus connections to Ilanz and Vella from the village center are frequent.
Obersaxen-Meierhof, Klosters, Parpan, Flims, Laax, Andermatt, Klosters, Davos are internationally renowned sports resorts within easy motoring distance. The Sports Arena and the Gondola lift in Flims (15 mi.) attract sports professionals and celebrities from around the world. Fine shops and gourmet restaurants abound in this vacation paradise for those who seek a respite from the madding crowds of the usual resorts. Chur (Coire), a medieval city with Roman origins, is the cantonal center with rail and road connections Europe-wide.

Weekly rental rates Rates for the first 4 Guests vary according to seasons:
 A. Preferred season, from early January to early March, at Easter and during July August £1195/€1919
 B. Year End Season, from mid December to early January £1435/€2304
 C. Rest of year £1086/€1744
Weeks run from Saturday (15:00/3 PM) to Saturday (10:00AM). Enquire for rates for non standard weeks.
The weekly charge for each additional adult guest is £ 55. Children 8 years old and less are counted at half-rate.
Week-end rates are £ 250 per day (preferred season) and £ 200 per day (rest of year except year end) for up to 4 persons. Additional guests are charged £ 28 per day (children 8 and under: £ 14). Minimum stay is 3 days.
All rates, except week-end rates, are inclusive of taxes, admin and cleaning fees, heating, linen, snow removal. Week-end rates are inclusive of taxes, heating, linen, snow removal but a £ 100 is charged per stay for administration and cleaning.

Rebates and discounts of up to 40% are available most of the year, based on rental features such as consecutive weeks' rental, more than 3 months advance notice of reservation, last minute vacancies, and occasional promotions. Enquire from Owners or check Chalet's website from link above.
Minimum rental deposit of 35% is required on booking. Balance, if any, due 60+ days from start of rental period. Security deposit of £ 350 GBP is due 15+ days from start of rental period. Metered phone charges, beverages consumed,
damages noted on departure will be deducted from security deposit or otherwise colected on guests' departure.
